Adopt a School Program

The Rockies are member of the Western Women's Hockey League (WWHL), a league that premiers the best female hockey player in Canada and around the world.  And Strathmore now has its very own team - The Strathmore Rockies.
Hockey is a Canadian pastime that touches the heart and spirit of everyone who encounters it, and women's hockey is no different.  The Rockies players are role models for the young boys and girls who will look for inspiration and encouragement while growing and why not take these role models to their schools.

Setting goals, positive attitudes, hard work, focus, teamwork, achieve anything you put your mind to.  If any of these words mean anything to you or your organization then we are looking for your involvement in being part of the Strathmore Rockies Adopt a School Program.

The programs vision is to work with the school to set up specific days where Rockies players go into school and meet in their classrooms or as a school as a whole.  Some topics the Rockies will talk about are goal setting, staying active with a healthy lifestyle, dedication and facing adversity.
After some questions and discussion a floor hockey game will be played with members of the Rockies with students from the school.  Home game tickets to the upcoming Rockies games will be given out and as well as any other promotional materials (hockey cards with company logo along with inspirational message).

With a year under our belt the Adopt a school program has been a success.  During the 2006/07 hockey season the Rockies attended two schools and spoke about nutrition and goal setting.  The students were engaged, asked questions and energetic from start to finish.

We are actively looking for a individual or business to sponsor this great program.  If you are interested please contact president@strathmorerockies.com
