This is your chance to have Rockies players run one of your team practices, and for players to learn and improve their skills from some of the best female hockey players in the West!
Sessions will include:
- Passing and Shooting
- Skating and Stick Handling
- Puck Protection
- Coach Mentorship and Player Development

Want to know what it's like to play in the best women's hockey league in Canada? Now you can with the Strathmore Rockies and the EnCana Experience a Dream program!
This is a great opportunity for young girls to get on the ice with some of the best players in the Western Women's Hockey League. Players will have a chance to warm-up with the Rockies, stand on the blue line with their role models during the National anthem, and help the team out on the bench during a home game.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for all kids who dream big and want to experience what it's like to play in the big leagues.

Rockies Community Involvement 2007-08 Season
Strathmore Girls Peewee Hockey Team - After the Rockies win over the Edmonton Chimos on Jan 20 the team got together with the Strathmore Girls Peewee team and played floor hockey, dogeball and had pizza. It was a great way to meet the team and learn more about playing hockey in Stathmore.
Adopt A School Visit - January - Players of the Rockies visited three elementary schools in Strathmore, Wheatland Elementary, Brentwood and Sacred Heart Elementary. The players spoke about healthy llifestyles, staying active and then had a floor hockey game withthe kids. Each kid received one ticket to an upcoming Rockies game.
Hockey Canada Atom Player Development Clinic - January - On Jan 5 six Rockies players helped Hockey Canada in a clinic to 90 atom girls. The Rockies spent the day with the girls playing team building games, teaching them skating, shooting, and stickhandling skills.
Ronald McDonald House - Calgary - In December each member of the Strathmore Rockies brought a homemade Christmas Dinner dish to the families in the Ronald McDonald House. It was a special night as we mingled played games, chatted with families and kids who were short or long term patients at the Children's hospital.
Strathmore Children's Make a wish Parade - October - A handful of players arrived in Strathmore at the early hours to help with registration of the fundraising walk. Others took their skills to the street and walked in the parade with the kids. After the parade the girls offered a shooting gallery for any of the kids to take some shots.
Strathmore Women's Sprint Triathlon - Some Strathmore players came out and volunteered at this event for the day cheering words of encouragement to all the participants.
At various times during the year Strathmore players head out to rink in and around Calgary and help younger players develop their hockey skills.
